Northern Irish Civil Rights Association
The Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association (NICRA) was formed on 6th February 1967 to demand a number of political reforms including: (a) one man one vote, (b) an end to gerrymandering, (c) an end to discrimination in housing, (d) an end to discrimination in public sector job allocation, (e) the repeal of the Special Powers Act and the disbandment of the Ulster Special Constabulary (B-Specials). These demands form the core of the civil rights political programme in Northern Ireland during the late 1960's.
